| 2005 Mathematics Framework for California Public Schools, Kindergarten through Grade Twelve
CDE - Mathematics Framework
The Mathematics Framework for California Public Schools, based on the rigorous mathematics standards adopted by the California State Board of Education in December 1997, was revised in 2005 to guide and support schools with curriculum development and instruction. As required by the California Education Code, the framework is aligned with the standards and provides a context for a coordinated effort to enable all California students to achieve rigorous, high levels of mathematics proficiency.

Significant revisions occurred in Ch. 10: Criteria for Evaluating Instructional Materials and Appendix E: Mathematics Intervention and Algebra Readiness Instructional Materials. Because successful completion of an Algebra 1 course is a high school requirement, this framework includes guidance on the design of two new types of specialized instructional materials for students not performing at grade level: a mathematics intervention program for students in grades four through seven, and an algebra readiness program for students in grade eight or higher.
The next Mathematics Framework will be released in 2012.
