CST tests are a part of STAR (Standard Testing and Reporting), which also includes the California Achievement Test, Sixth Edition (CAT-6), Designated Primary Language Test: Aprenda 3, and California Alternate Performance Assessment (CAPA). STAR was designed to determine how well students are learning the skills and knowledge required by the California Academic Content Standards for each grade or course.
